Apple has just dropped the news about the launch of their Apple Vision Pro developer kits. Starting today, developers can toss their hats in the ring to get their hands on one of these kits. With the Apple Vision Pro "loaner" they'll receive, developers will be able to whip up and experiment with apps to their heart's content.

Apple's playing the good guy here - not only are they handing out a Vision Pro to developers, but they're also throwing in a whole support package. From helping with the device setup and onboarding to regular check-ins with Apple wizards for some nifty UI design and development advice, they've got you covered. And they're not stopping there - they're offering help with polishing your app and tossing in two extra lifelines for troubleshooting any pesky code issues.

But here's the catch - Apple's saying that the Apple Vision Pro headsets are still their babies. They've got to stay put where they're shipped, in a secret lair that only the approved developers can access. Apple will be keeping tabs on you, and they want their kit back when they ask for it. So yeah, it's kind of like borrowing the Batmobile - you get to take it for a spin, but you've got to return it to the Batcave when Batman calls!

Developers can apply on Apple's website. Apple will collect details about each team's development skills and existing apps, with priority given to applicants creating an app that takes advantage of visionOS features and capabilities.
